What We Do — Asterion
What We Do

What we do, in four parts.

Asterion is a boutique investment firm managing private wealth. The work falls into four parts: direct holdings in private companies, a deliberate allocation to early-stage ventures, co-investments alongside people we know, and the oversight that ties the portfolio together.

01 · PRIVATE COMPANIES

Direct holdings in private businesses.

The core of the portfolio is held directly in private companies rather than through funds. These are minority positions in established businesses, taken deliberately and held for a long time.

Terms Of Ownership

Private holdings are illiquid and can lose their whole value. Nothing here is an offer of securities or investment advice.
How The Allocation Is Sized

02 · EARLY-STAGE VENTURES

A deliberate, smaller allocation.

A smaller part of the private allocation goes to younger companies, in the sectors we already know. Each position is sized so that a single failure does not matter to the portfolio, which is what allows us to be patient with the ones that work.

{{ b }}

We back founders in sectors where the principals can be useful, and decline quickly elsewhere.

03 · CO-INVESTMENTS

Alongside people we know.

Some of the private allocation goes into transactions led by family offices, operators or sponsors we have worked with before. We take a minority stake on the same terms as the lead, do our own work on the business, and stay for as long as they do.

How We Participate

We are a useful second name on a cap table: decisive, discreet and not working to a fund clock.

04 · PORTFOLIO OVERSIGHT

One view across the holdings.

Asset management does not end at the investment. We consolidate the holdings into a single view, review valuations on a set rhythm, and take board or observer roles where they are useful to the business and to the portfolio.

We work alongside independent custodians, auditors and counsel; we do not provide legal or tax advice.
